Dot We Teach - EFM

Education for Ministry, affectionately known as EFM, is a program of theological education-at-a-distance of the School of Theology of the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee. Students sign up one year at a time for this four-year program. It covers the basics of a theological education in the Old and New Testaments, church history, liturgy, and theology. Our 12 students meet regularly once weekly, in seminar under the guidance of two specially trained mentors. The program grants a certificate at the completion of the four years and 18 Continuing Education Units for each year's work.

EFM teaches participants how to think theologically, deepens one's faith and understanding of our Christian heritage, and provides us with a new confidence to be Christ's representative in our various ministries.

New groups start at Emmanuel each March with no more than 6 students with a single mentor, or 12 students with two mentors.

For more information contact Gren King at 540-456-6334.
